Falls are a leading cause of injury-related death and hospitalisation in older people. As people get older, particularly those living in residential aged care, they are more susceptible to falling over and losing their balance.
At this one-day evidence-based workshop you will learn:
Ø to identify the nature and impact of the problem of falls in older people living in residential aged care
Ø about risk factors and how they impact on falls
Ø about the issues related to falls for people who live in residential aged care
Ø about interventions that have been shown to be effective in preventing falls
Ø how evidence can be applied in residential aged care
Ø how others have dealt with challenging residents
This workshop will give you the opportunity to refresh and expand your knowledge, share your experiences in falls prevention, and will provide you with the latest evidence to help you improve the care you deliver to your residents.
Who should attend:
Ø Residential aged care workers
Ø Allied health, nursing, clinical and medical staff
Registration:
Ø Cost $465 (including GST) per person
Ø 10% discount for early bird registrations before 14th February 2020
